The original kneeling chair, created by Peter Opsvik in 1979. Opsvik, a Norwegian industrial designer born in 1939, trained at the Bergen College of Applied Art and the Norwegian State College of Applied Art in Oslo. He’s freelanced since 1970, currently operating his design studio in Oslo with seven colleagues. Focused on product design to solve real-life problems, Opsvik challenges traditional sitting habits with playful, human-centered solutions, breaking norms of sitting still.
